Fly Fishing Learning Centre

Fly-fishing gurus will be on hand throughout the weekend to share their knowledge and techniques with both rookies and seasoned fly-fisherman alike. Receive advice on the gear best suited to your needs and give it a try at the casting pool.

Josh Nugent - Writer and Photographer

Josh has been fortunate enough to be featured in many fly fishing publications, both as a writer and photographer as well as in The Canadian Fly Fishers,Top Guide Spotlight. He has also worked with several Fly Fishing shows such as two episodes with friend, and host of LL Bean's Guide to the Outdoors, Tim Rajeff and guiding Hunter Hoffler on In The Loop: Modern tactics on fly fishing. Josh has also served as one of the Co-Hosts for Fly Nation (Seasons 1 and 2) and the Spain Series.

Ruben Breitkreutz

Born and raised in BC, Ruben was lucky to be introduced to the sport of fly fishing/fly tying at the age of 12. He has been an avid fly fisher for over 40 yrs.
As a IFFF certified casting instructor, he has been teaching Fly casting and fly tying since 1996.  Fly casting and fishing has allowed Ruben to travel throughout North America and Tropical locations such as Cuba and Christmas Island.
Photography is also part of his repertoire, having been published in books and magazines. He represents several prominent Fly Fishing tackle companies including Sage, Rio, Redington, Fishpond, Renzetti and Tibor Reels. Ruben is willing to share his knowledge with everyone he meets.

Canadian National Sportsmen's shows is a not-for-profit Corporation and the largest producer of boat, fishing, ski and outdoor shows in Canada. The Calgary Boat & Sportsmen's Show, part of the Canadian National Sportsmen's Shows (CNSS), first took place in Calgary back in 1977. 40 years later, CNSS has helped protect Canada's outdoors with grants in excess of $32 million dollars. Community programs launched by CNSS include "Kids Fishing Day", which allocated more than 65,000 fishing kits to over kids over the 10 years of the program.
