The Calgary Boat & Sportsmen's Show is proud to present the Honda Junior Red Rider Program at the show.
This feature is open to Kids Aged 6-12 years of age that are proficient on a two-wheel bicycle.
The Honda Junior Red Rider Program offers a free opportunity for kids to take a ride on the latest Honda CRF motorcycle. With certified instruction, the latest motocross gear and a 15 minute riding session, your child will be safely introduced to the wonderful world of off-road riding. Participation is limited to 5 riders at a time during scheduled session times.
A visit to the Honda Junior Red Rider Program is a great way to get your child started in an activity that will bring a lifetime of enjoyment!
Get in the safety Gear
Everyone will be decked-out from head-to-toe in Fox off-road protective equipment and our instructors will explain why protective equipment is so important for safe riding.
Bonding with the bike
This is when the fun starts!! Our instructors will begin with an orientation about the motorcycle's controls and features. Riders will be assigned to small groups and lessons will begin with the fundamentals of balance, steering, and stopping a motorcycle.
Throttle-Steer-Brakes
Effective coordination of throttle and brake controls are essential for safe riding. We'll teach your child the fundamentals of throttle and brake control and how these are used for moving away from a standstill, steering around corners, and stopping at specific points. Emphasis is placed upon smooth operation of these important controls.
Throttle-Shift-Brakes
Shifting gears is a part of riding and we'll teach riders the proper way to up-shift and downshift in a smooth, controlled manner while using the throttle and brake controls effectively.
Thank you to
Honda Canada and
Rocky Mountain Honda Powerhouse for bringing this feature to the show!
