Calgary, Alberta, January 12 - AMAZING ANIMALS AT THE 2010 CALGARY BOAT & SPORTSMEN’S SHOW

You will find some amazing animals at the 2010 Calgary Boat and Sportsmen’s Show kicking off at BMO Centre in Stampede Park, February 4 -7, 2010.
Alberta Birds of Prey  Show visitors to the 2010 Calgary Boat and Sportsmen’s Show will be able to experience first- hand a variety of rare and endangered bird species courtesy of the Alberta Birds of Prey Centre, located in Coaldale, Alberta, which is the largest facility of its kind in Canada. Handlers will be presenting a Burrowing Owl, American Kestrel, Great Horned Owl, and the extremely rare Golden Eagle. Visitors to the show will be able to take photos and closely interact with the birds on hand. the birds will be on display during all show hours.

Dock Dogs
Making its debut at the 2010 Calgary Boat and Sportsmen’s Show is Dock Dogs! You’ve seen them on ESPN, the Outdoor Channel and ABC. These dogs really fly! Known as the “Long Jump for Dogs,” dogs and their owners compete for the title of Big Air Dog -- the dog with the longest leap off the end of the dock. Better yet, you and your water-loving pooch can compete for top dog status. Register your dog online to compete. Does your dog have what it takes to beat the current Canadian jump of 21 feet? Elk Calling Championship
And last but not least, these aren’t amazing animals, just people who sound like them! For the first time in Western Canada, the 2010 Calgary Boat and Sportsmen’s Shows will be featuring a Canadian Elk Calling Championship qualifying round. Come down and listen to the sounds of nature! The Elk Calling Qualifying Round takes place at the Fishing Demonstration Pool and Hunting Stage at 1:00 pm Saturday, Feb 6th.
